What you'll study

Coursework and research develop philological and contemporary literary‑studies skills for analysing Turkish texts across historical periods, while situating those texts in relation to other literary cultures and allied arts. The programme highlights:

• Comparative methods linking Turkish literature to Western, Persian and Mediterranean literatures
• Interactions between literature and other mediums (mythology, cinema, music, fine arts)
• Foundational perspectives from linguistics, philology and contemporary literary theory to support textual analysis

Entry requirements

The programme admits candidates with a BA in Turkish language and literature as well as graduates from other disciplines. Applicants without a background in Turkish language and literature are required to attend a tailored preparation programme designed according to individual needs. The programme is delivered in English and is offered in both thesis and non‑thesis tracks.
