What you'll study

Students focus predominantly on mathematical topics (approximately four fifths of the programme). In addition they select an application subject from areas such as physics, informatics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or business administration to apply mathematical methods to domain problems. The curriculum includes a compulsory industry/practical placement scheduled in the fifth semester and incorporates cross-disciplinary study elements to broaden perspectives. Teaching is supported by an equipped university library and modern computer rooms with relevant mathematical software.

Entry requirements

Admission requires the Allgemeine Hochschulreife (Abitur) or a Fachhochschulreife (Fachabitur). No preliminary practical work (Vorpraktikum) is necessary. The programme is generally zulassungsfrei (no restricted admission). Study forms available include full-time, dual study and part-time.
