What you'll study

The course covers the major processes that influence the quality of land, air and water resources and the causes of environmental degradation and pollution. You will learn about effective methods of environmental protection and gain expertise in designing and implementing protection programmes. There is also opportunity to study integrated protection and management approaches for particular ecosystems or resources and to explore natural resource management in depth.

Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold preferably a UK honours degree (2:1) or an equivalent qualification in a biological, environmental or physical science, geography, engineering, economics or another relevant subject. Evidence of English language proficiency is also required.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for roles that require diagnosing environmental problems and delivering protection or conservation measures — for example positions in environmental management, resource conservation, policy implementation, consultancy or research support. The programme emphasises skills that are applicable in Europe and internationally.
