Entry requirements

Applicants must be Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Complete in Math and ELAR and submit a completed BAS in Software Development application by the program deadline. There are two pathways: the Direct Path for students who are TSI Complete and ready for upper-division prerequisites, and the Foundation Path for recent high school graduates, career changers, or those seeking a stronger foundation before upper-division work. Admission does not require a minimum GPA. Admitted students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA to stay in good standing. Note that enrollment in 3000- and 4000-level BAS courses is limited to officially admitted BAS Software Development students.

The degree is designed to prepare graduates to support and build computer-based information systems and to develop skills employers seek for software development and related technical roles.
