What you'll study

Academic courses completed as part of an associate degree or taken independently may be applied toward Angelo State University’s core curriculum requirements. Some majors within the program require particular courses to satisfy the 42-credit-hour Texas core curriculum requirement. Associate degrees from Texas community colleges typically include 9–15 credit hours of academic coursework that can be counted toward ASU’s core curriculum.

Entry requirements

Applicants must already have an associate degree from an accredited institution of higher education. The associate degree may be in any discipline, including technical degrees. Be aware that transferring fewer than 12 credit hours of academic coursework may require extending the bachelor’s program beyond 120 hours.

Career prospects

Graduates can begin or advance careers in the area of their chosen specialization immediately after completing the degree, or they may choose to pursue graduate study. The degree is structured to prepare students for professional roles related to their specialization area.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Angelo State offers a range of scholarship opportunities: Distinguished Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and do not require a separate application—admitted students are considered automatically. A general scholarship application covers many other awards. Students with demonstrated financial need may qualify for the Blue and Gold Guarantee, which can provide free tuition. The university also provides student success resources such as the Freshman College, Math Lab, Writing Center, peer mentoring, Supplemental Instruction, and tutoring services.
