• Practicum and Internship: Clinical Experience and Supervision (700-hour practicum and internship, with at least 300 hours of client contact; includes an internship group supervision course one evening a week for 2 hours)

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree (minimum 2.7 GPA; a social science major is preferred but not required). The admissions packet requires undergraduate transcripts, a current CV/resume, a 500-word personal statement, and two letters of recommendation. Admission includes an interview with the MSMFT Program Director. Curry alumni should inquire about a preferred application process.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared to seek licensure as LMFTs and LMHCs and to work clinically with individuals, couples, families and groups. The programme emphasizes a professional identity in counseling and equips students for diverse master’s-level careers in mental health settings beyond traditional family or couples therapy. Current student internship sites cited include community and behavioral health providers such as Arbour Counseling, Bay State Community Services, Child & Family Services, Inc., Northeast Health Services, Praxis Institute and Stoughton Counseling.
