Programme overview

The Master of Science in Computer Science at Curry College is a 30-credit, experiential graduate degree built around accelerated 8-week courses and a compulsory 6-credit experiential component. The program emphasises applied artificial intelligence, practical implementation of AI-powered systems, and opportunities to work with industry-expert faculty in a new Data Science Lab. What you'll study

• Structure: Ten 8-week courses (30 credits) including 6 credits of experiential education delivered through internships, a faculty-led capstone, or a research thesis.
• Core competencies (12 credits): MSCS 7000 Program Design; MSCS 7050 Data Structures and Algorithm Design; MSCS 7100 Foundations of AI; and either MSCS 7150 Software Project Management or MSCS 7155 Research Methods in Computer Science.
• Applied AI track (12 credits): MSCS 7200 Computer Vision; MSCS 7210 Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models; MSCS 7220 Human-Centered AI Design; MSCS 7230 Machine Learning.
• Experiential & capstone (6 credits): MSCS 7010 Internship Experience (1 credit each term until 6 credits total). If an external internship is not obtained, the experiential requirement can be completed with MSCS 7610 Faculty-Led Capstone Project or MSCS 7650 Research Thesis in the final term.
• Schedule example: The published plan staggers core and track courses across accelerated sessions over roughly two academic years, with 1 credit of experiential education each term and 2 credits in the final term.

Entry requirements

• Completed online graduate application and $50 application fee.
• Official transcripts showing an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Recommended minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 (applicants with GPA 2.5–2.74 considered for conditional enrollment through holistic review).
• Professional resume and personal statement.
• Preparatory Bridge Pathway: applicants without a CS background can complete or pass proficiency exams for preparatory courses (examples listed: CS 2789 Programming and Problem Solving; CS 3500 Object-Oriented Programming; CS 2300 Scripting; CS 2020 Database Concepts; MATH 2160/2130 Discrete Math or Calculus I) before starting core coursework.
