Programme overview

The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) with a business concentration is a 120-credit completion degree designed to let students leverage prior applied or technical coursework toward a first bachelor’s degree. The program is offered fully online with recorded lectures and a mix of synchronous and asynchronous engagement via Panopto, Canvas and Collaborate. ENMU positions this pathway for students who already hold applied associate-level credits and want a business-focused secondary concentration to expand career opportunities.

What you'll study

The BAAS requires completion of general education requirements plus a primary and a secondary concentration within the 120-credit degree. As a secondary business concentration, course topics include:

• Principles of Accounting
• Introduction to Finance
• Business Law
• Survey of Economics
• Principles of Management
• Principles of Marketing

Entry requirements

To enter the BAAS program you must have one of the following from an institution accredited by an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA): an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree, or at least 30 credit hours in a career-technical related discipline. Career prospects

Holding a BAAS with a business concentration prepares graduates to pursue enhanced roles across a range of fields. The program cites connections to careers or further study in accounting, agricultural business, finance, hospitality management, information systems, management and marketing. ENMU Counseling and Career Services also offer free job placement assistance to enrolled students.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Enrolled business students are eligible to apply for scholarships administered through the ENMU Foundation. The university notes relatively low tuition at the bachelor’s level within New Mexico and provides institutional scholarship information and financial aid resources for prospective and continuing students.
