What you'll study

The curriculum is organised around competencies rather than traditional courses and was shaped with input from seminary faculty and frontline ministry leaders. Core learning emphases include:

• Biblical studies — biblical exegesis, biblical theology, and fundamentals of the biblical languages (phonology, morphology, syntax, vocabulary) for Hebrew and Greek to support translation and exegesis.
• Theology and doctrine — systematic theology areas such as Bibliology, Theology Proper, Christology, Pneumatology, Angelology, Anthropology, Hamartiology, Soteriology, Ecclesiology, and Eschatology with application to personal life and local ministry.
• Ministry practice — preaching and teaching, spiritual formation, intercultural studies, leadership, conflict resolution, administration, and practical competencies for leading congregational or parachurch ministries.
• Competency examples — initiating transformational change, resolving leadership conflict, articulating personal theology, and utilising biblical languages to apply foundational doctrines.

Entry requirements

Admission requires a four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognised institution. Applicants from Bible colleges, liberal arts colleges, and state institutions are encouraged to apply. Candidates with pre-seminary education from non-accredited schools or with undergraduate GPAs below 2.5 may be admitted on academic restriction. Applicants without a bachelor’s degree but with certain ministry and research/writing qualifications may be considered; prospective students should contact seminary admissions for details.

• Required application materials include official transcripts (or unofficial transcript if degree in progress), a spiritual life reference, and for international applicants TESOL test scores and a financial certificate demonstrating sufficient funding.
• Grace Theological Seminary requires a testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as part of admission.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for a range of vocational ministry roles where leaders typically serve as general practitioners combining theology, preaching, leadership and pastoral care. Typical outcomes include:

• Lead pastor, pastoral staff, executive pastor, teaching pastor
• Denominational leadership, parachurch administrator, church elder
• Chaplaincy and other ministry leadership positions
