What you'll study

The program balances foundational theological courses with ministry-applied work. Students take core topics and then choose a six-course concentration. Example course titles and topics appearing in the curriculum include:

• New Testament Survey — backgrounds, purposes, content of New Testament books and their use in modern ministry.
• Ministry Leadership — servant leadership, mentoring, visionary leadership and change leadership with assignments such as pastoral interviews and an action plan.
• Ministry & Cultural Diversity — cultural systems, methods and skills for ministry in multi-cultural settings.
• Biblical Psychology — integration of psychology and theology, topics like personality and self-esteem, and biblical perspectives on depression and anxiety for pastoral care.
• Digital Dimensions of Spiritual Formation and Discipleship — theological and practical approaches to spiritual formation in digital contexts, strategies for leveraging online platforms for discipleship.

Available concentrations (each consisting of six concentration courses) are: Christian Ministry; Counseling (ministry-focused, distinct from clinical mental health programs); Leadership and Management; Spiritual Formation and Discipleship; Technology; and Women’s Leadership Studies. Concentration courses are taught by instructors with practical ministry experience.
