Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (Women’s Leadership Concentration)

Offered at Grace College
DegreeMasters
FieldTheology & Religious Studies

A 48-credit online master's designed for women seeking leadership formation in church, parachurch and mission settings. It combines biblical and theological study with practical ministry skills, mentoring and leadership-focused coursework; the online MACM follows the same accredited curriculum offered on campus (ATS and HLC).

What you'll study

The curriculum mixes theological foundations, spiritual formation, leadership studies and practical ministry experience. Core topics and sample courses include:

  • Women and Scripture — study of women’s roles in the Old Testament in context of the ancient world.
  • Soul Care in Leadership — learning incarnational care that brings God’s presence to those in pain rather than trying simply to fix problems.
  • Biblical Foundations of Leadership — exploring Scripture and exemplary lives to construct a leadership model that addresses heart issues.
  • Practical Ministry Apprenticeship — mentored field experience under a practitioner in the student’s chosen area.
  • Interpersonal Communication & Conflict — biblical foundations of relationships, personal relating styles, small group dynamics and conflict management skills.
  • Additional emphases include hermeneutics, spiritual formation and prayer, pastoral skills such as preaching, teaching and discipleship integration.

Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree (or equivalent for international students) from a recognized institution and submit official transcripts and a spiritual life reference. International applicants also must provide TESOL scores and a financial certificate showing sufficient funds. Some applicants with non-accredited pre-seminary education or a GPA below 2.5 may be admitted on academic restriction. Applicants without a bachelor’s degree may be considered if they meet ministry and research/writing requirements; Master of Arts candidates may face additional non-academic or ministry-experience requirements.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared to lead women’s ministry and related programs in churches, parachurch organizations and mission contexts. Typical roles listed by the program include:

  • Director of Family Ministries
  • Director of Assimilation
  • Director of Small Group Ministries
  • Director of Discipleship
  • Spiritual Formation Director for Women
  • Program Director for Women’s Educational Programs at non-profits
  • Curriculum developer for Bible study materials
