Each certificate is built from required and elective courses selected to match your interests and career goals. Instructors are experienced classroom teachers with advanced degrees and design course content to be immediately useful in the classroom. Popular certificate topics include:
Complete the required and elective course work for the chosen certificate and submit the short Application for Continuing Education Certificate form. Once FPU verifies successful completion of the stated courses and units, the certificate is awarded and posted to the participant’s transcript.
These certificates are aimed at current teachers who want immediately applicable classroom strategies or new subject knowledge. FPU notes courses can support earning certifications and may lead to salary increases—specific salary impacts depend on local district policies. The program is intended to broaden expertise and help teachers advance within K–12 settings, but it does not substitute for credential programs.
FPU markets the certificates as affordable by allowing pay-as-you-enroll for each course and eliminating travel costs since learning is fully online.
