Entry requirements

• Submission of the Division of Doctoral Nursing application for the BSN-to-DNP FNP program.
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an institution accredited by an ED/CHEA-recognized agency and national nursing programmatic accreditation (CCNE, ACEN, or CNEA).
• Undergraduate GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale (based on the baccalaureate-granting institution with at least 30 hours completed). Applicants with a minimum 3.0 GPA may be considered for conditional admission with an initial 9-credit trial of doctoral courses to establish a graduate GPA; failure to earn a 3.0 or receiving a B- or lower while conditionally admitted will result in denial/withdrawal.
• Current unencumbered RN license; proof that any nursing licenses are not encumbered. Applicants with encumbered licenses are ineligible.
• Resume/CV and a 2–3 page narrative outlining practice experience and professional goals.
• Criminal background check required upon admission and repeated prior to NP practicum courses (student expense).
• International/non-native English speakers must submit TOEFL (paper 600 / computer 250 / internet 100) or IELTS (minimum 6.5) for regular admission.
• The Division of Doctoral Nursing may request an interview and may ask for letters of professional reference when deemed necessary.
