What you'll study

The curriculum emphasises transferable humanities and social sciences skills rather than a single subject specialism. Entry requirements

There are no formal academic admission requirements; applicants must be age 16 or older and may enrol anytime. Note that applicants who already hold a more senior credential (for example a bachelor’s degree) are not eligible for this diploma. To begin study you apply online, pay the one-time general application fee (and a transfer credit evaluation fee if applicable), then register in courses.

Career prospects

The program builds foundational communication, analysis and independent-study skills valued across sectors. It is primarily intended as preparation for further university study (a pathway into a Bachelor of Arts) but those seeking entry-level roles that prioritise written and verbal communication, critical reasoning and cultural literacy may also benefit.

Students with previous post-secondary study may request transfer credit, but must complete at least 24 credits at AU if transfer credit is applied.
