Marquette's PhD in Clinical Psychology is an APA-accredited, full-time doctoral program that awards an MS en route to the PhD. The program requires 81 credit hours, is designed to be completed in five years at Marquette followed by a one-year internship, and integrates coursework, supervised clinical experience and research training.

What you'll study

Coursework covers scientific areas of psychology, historical foundations, research methods and professional practice skills. Supervised clinical experiences and practica are provided through the Department of Psychology’s Center for Psychological Services and partner agencies in the Milwaukee area. Entry requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (or international equivalent) prior to starting graduate study and have a minimum GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. An undergraduate major in psychology is desirable but not required; research experience is strongly recommended. Required application materials include a completed online application and fee, transcripts (with transcript evaluation for international coursework), a personal statement (1,000 words or fewer) addressing experiences, goals and contribution to diversity, three letters of reference, and English proficiency proof for non-U.S. citizens (TOEFL or acceptable alternative). GRE scores are optional. Highly ranked applicants will be invited to interview. The program offers consideration for a Department of Psychology Diversity Graduate Assistantship/Fellowship to applicants who indicate interest.
