The climate crisis, as highlighted in the recent IPCC report, necessitates immediate action. Collaborative and inventive solutions are paramount to confront climate change and uphold the Paris Agreement. Simultaneously, investing in education and skills becomes pivotal to empower future generations. Yet, global educational disparities hinder millions from accessing fundamental skills needed for success.

As a steadfast partner of One Young World, Deloitte proudly sponsors five exceptional young leaders to attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal from September 18 to 21, 2024. The scholarships target forward-thinking leaders focused on climate change mitigation or enhancing education, skills, and opportunities worldwide.

Candidates demonstrating a commitment to curbing carbon emissions, advocating climate action, fostering resilience, or championing educational equity are encouraged to apply. Successful scholars will receive exclusive access to the Summit, including travel and accommodation, empowering them to engage in impactful discussions and networking opportunities.

Deloitte's support extends beyond the Summit, providing opportunities for engagement and mentorship, shaping the future leaders of tomorrow. Together, we embark on a journey to drive meaningful change and secure a sustainable, inclusive future for all.

Scholarship Benefits:

Scholars will be granted the following benefits:

• Attendance at the One Young World Summit 2024 in Montreal (subject to travel regulations).
• Lodging in a private room from September 18 to 21, 2024.
• Coverage for travel expenses to and from Montreal (economy class).
• Catered meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offered by the hotel during the Summit.
• Ground transportation between Summit venues.
• Engagement in Deloitte-sponsored sessions for their delegation, both preceding and during the Summit, alongside a designated Deloitte mentor.

Eligible Nationalities:

• Applicants from all nations qualify, but proposed projects must align with locations where Deloitte operates.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Age Range: Individuals aged 18 to 30 are encouraged to apply; exceptions may be considered for older candidates showcasing notable personal impact, initiative, and engagement.
• Evidence of Commitment: Demonstrated dedication to effecting positive change.
  
• Leadership Skills: Displayed capacity for effective leadership roles.
• Comprehensive Understanding: A grasp of crucial local and/or global issues.
• Track Record: Proven history of devising impactful and innovative solutions for either climate and environmental challenges, or education and skills-based challenges.
