This master’s programme focuses on the technologies and practices that underpin modern wired and wireless networks, telecommunications platforms and converged services. • Cloud and Virtualised Networking – software‑defined networking (SDN), network function virtualisation (NFV) and cloud connectivity patterns.
• Capstone or Applied Project – a practical, supervised project that integrates design, implementation and evaluation of a real-world networking or telecommunications solution.

Entry requirements

Applicants are normally expected to hold a recognised bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, information technology, electrical engineering or a closely related discipline. Relevant professional experience in network administration, systems engineering or telecommunications is strongly recommended and may be considered in lieu of some academic prerequisites.

• Transcripts demonstrating completion of an accredited undergraduate degree.
• Evidence of technical background—this can include professional experience, employer references or prior certifications (for example routing/switching, systems or telecommunications credentials).
• Competency in core undergraduate topics such as computer networking, operating systems and data communications; bridging or preparatory modules may be required for applicants without this background.
• Proof of English language proficiency for applicants whose prior education was not in English, in line with university policy.
