What you'll study

The programme combines applied performance, academic music study and collaborative theatre and media work. Core study typically includes ear training and aural skills, music theory and harmony, music history and literature, and regular one-to-one applied lessons on your primary instrument or voice. Students take ensemble classes (choral, orchestral, wind, jazz combo, musical theatre ensemble), and modules in conducting, arranging and composition.

Applied technology and production are emphasised through courses in recording techniques, music technology and scoring for media. For students interested in theatre, the curriculum often offers modules in musical theatre performance, acting for singers, stagecraft and musical direction, enabling cross-disciplinary projects with FIU Theatre and dance students. Entry requirements

Entry normally requires a recognised high school diploma or equivalent and submission of an application to the university.
