What you'll study

The programme balances practical studio training with academic study. Core practical modules typically include Acting (scene study, improvisation, text work), Voice and Movement, Stagecraft and Technical Theatre (scenic construction, lighting, sound), Costume and Makeup, and Performance Workshop courses. Students take courses in Script Analysis, Theatre History and Dramaturgy, Playwriting and Directing. Production practicum is central: students participate in mounting multiple public productions each year in roles onstage and offstage. Advanced options often allow specialisation in performance, design/technology or theatre-making, and a senior capstone project brings together production, research or an original performance.

Entry requirements

Admission to the undergraduate drama programme is through Clark University’s standard undergraduate admission process. Typical expectations include a strong secondary‑school record and a written personal statement that explains your interest in theatre. Applicants who wish to be considered for performance or technical scholarships, or who apply for a performance‑focused pathway, are normally asked to submit an audition or a short video of performance work; design or technical applicants may be invited to submit a portfolio.
