What you'll study

The BS in Cybersecurity provides a balanced programme of theory and practice. You will build core technical skills in areas such as networking, operating systems, and programming, and then specialise in security topics including network security, cryptography, ethical hacking, and digital forensics. Coursework typically includes lab‑based modules, a capstone project that addresses a real security problem, and opportunities for an industry practicum or internship.

• Core subjects: Introduction to Cybersecurity, Computer Networking, Operating Systems, Programming for Security (commonly Python or similar), Database Fundamentals.
• Security-focused modules: Network and Systems Security, Applied Cryptography, Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics and Incident Response.
• Management and policy: Information Security Management, Risk Assessment and Compliance, Cybersecurity Law and Ethics, Security Policy and Governance.
• Capstone and practical experience: Senior Capstone Project applying defensive or investigative techniques to a substantive problem; laboratory coursework with hands‑on exercises; optional internships or cooperative placements with local employers.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a recognised secondary school qualification. Admission typically considers academic record, completed mathematics coursework and any prior experience in computing. Candidates without recent formal computing study may be asked to complete a placement test or a preparatory course to demonstrate readiness for degree‑level technical work. Mature applicants with relevant work experience are usually considered on an individual basis. International applicants will need to demonstrate English language proficiency as required by the College.

Graduates are prepared for a range of entry‑level roles in information security and related fields. Common job titles include Security Analyst, SOC (Security Operations Centre) Technician, Network Security Administrator, Penetration Tester (ethical hacker), Incident Responder and Digital Forensics Technician.
