What you'll study

This programme combines core biological and physical science courses with applied conservation and research methods. You learn to evaluate natural systems, design and conduct field and laboratory studies, and use contemporary tools for resource assessment and planning.

• Foundations: ecology, general biology, organismal biology, genetics and environmental chemistry to build a firm scientific base.
• Resource‑specific studies: courses in soil science, watershed and hydrology, wildlife ecology, forest ecology and freshwater ecology.
• Quantitative and analytical skills: statistics for the life sciences, experimental design and data analysis, and mapping and spatial analysis using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
