Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to hold a high-school diploma or equivalent. Admission typically considers academic transcripts, a personal statement demonstrating interest in philosophy and East Asian studies, and letters of recommendation as required by the University of Central Oklahoma admissions procedures. Standardised tests may be optional depending on the University’s current policy.

Recommended preparation includes coursework in humanities, history, or a foreign language; students with prior study of Mandarin or Asian studies are advantaged for the Chinese concentration but language beginner routes are available. Transfer students should supply college transcripts and a record of coursework in critical writing or introductory philosophy if available.
