Entry requirements

Applicants are expected to meet Florida State University's general undergraduate admission standards, including a recognised secondary school qualification and a competitive academic record. In addition to university admission, entry to the BSW sequence may require specific prerequisites such as introductory coursework in the social sciences, English composition and statistics, a minimum GPA for progression into upper-level social work courses, and completion of an application to the College of Social Work.

For clinical licensure and advanced practice roles, many BSW holders choose to pursue a Master of Social Work (MSW). A BSW also provides a strong foundation for careers in policy development, advocacy, research, and administration within human services.
