What you'll study

The programme combines foundational natural science with applied training in resource management, emphasising conditions in drylands. Core subjects typically include ecology and ecosystem dynamics, soil science, hydrology and water resources, plant physiology and agronomy, and environmental chemistry. Students also study quantitative skills such as statistics and remote sensing/GIS, plus modules on resource economics, policy and sustainable development.

Practical work is a significant component: laboratory classes, computer‑based GIS and modelling exercises, and extended field courses in the Negev. In later years students undertake advanced specialised modules (for example arid‑land restoration, irrigation technologies, or climate impacts on resources) and complete an independent research project or capstone, supervised by academic staff.

Applicants will normally need a recognised secondary school leaving qualification with strong grades in science and mathematics.
