What you'll study

The MA in Communications combines core theoretical frameworks with empirical research methods and applied subjects. Typical modules cover media and society; communication theory; qualitative and quantitative research methods; digital and social media; political and strategic communication; journalism studies; visual and audiovisual communication; media law and ethics; and specialised seminars in areas such as health communication, advertising, and cultural industries.

The programme offers a choice between a supervised research thesis and a professionally oriented final project or practicum, allowing students to develop an original research study or to produce an applied portfolio in collaboration with media, NGO or industry partners. Teaching is delivered through lectures, small seminars, research workshops and hands‑on labs, with expectations of independent reading, data collection and presentation.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a recognised bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, media studies, social sciences, humanities or a related discipline. Typical supporting materials include academic transcripts, a curriculum vitae, a personal statement or research proposal, and one or two academic references. Some applicants may be asked to attend an interview.

Because instruction and supervision can be provided in Hebrew or English depending on the course and supervisor, applicants must demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction for their intended study track. Applicants without a background in communication studies may be admitted on condition of completing prescribed undergraduate‑level preparatory courses.
