What you'll study

This combined degree integrates core accounting disciplines with general business studies. You will cover foundational accounting subjects such as financial accounting, management accounting, taxation, auditing and accounting information systems alongside business topics including economics, marketing, organisational behaviour, business law and corporate finance.

• Core accounting topics: financial reporting, management accounting, taxation, auditing and ethics, and accounting information systems.
• Business core: micro and macroeconomics, business law, organisational behaviour, strategic management and business communication.
• Electives and majors: choose electives or a major stream in areas such as finance, marketing, human resource management, international business or entrepreneurship to tailor your degree to specific career goals.
• Capstone and professional practice: industry projects, case studies and a capstone unit that integrate technical knowledge with workplace skills; opportunities for work‑integrated learning and placements where available.
• Delivery: study is offered on campus at CQU regional and metropolitan campuses and through flexible online study, allowing part‑time or accelerated study pathways and recognition of prior learning or professional experience.

Entry requirements

Admission is generally based on secondary school qualifications (or an approved equivalent) and meeting CQU's academic entry criteria for undergraduate study. Applicants who do not meet standard academic requirements may be considered through alternative pathways such as a recognised diploma, TAFE study, or demonstrated work experience and maturity entry schemes.

• Academic background: successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent; specific subject prerequisites may apply for some units.
• English proficiency: you must demonstrate satisfactory English language ability through recognised tests or qualifications if your prior study was not in English.
• Recognition of prior learning: CQU recognises completed tertiary study and relevant professional experience which can reduce the length of study via credit transfer.
