What you'll study

This combined degree blends core arts disciplines with interdisciplinary global studies. You will study subjects in international relations, global governance, development studies, human rights, migration and transnationalism, alongside complementary Arts majors such as politics, sociology, history, languages or media. Typical units include comparative politics, global development policy, research methods in the social sciences, global security and conflict, and a capstone or major research project.

The program often includes opportunities for language study, work‑integrated learning such as internships or community placements, and study abroad or exchange subjects with partner institutions. Course structure allows you to build a major in Global Studies alongside a second major from the Arts stream, enabling both breadth and depth across cultural, political and social perspectives.

Entry requirements

Admission is based on successful completion of secondary school (or an equivalent qualification) with an appropriate selection rank for undergraduate study. Applicants with completed tertiary study, recognised vocational qualifications, or substantial relevant work experience may be considered through alternative entry pathways or as mature‑age applicants. International applicants must meet ACU's English language requirements and provide certified academic transcripts.
