What you'll study

The programme combines core business fundamentals with specialised human-resources subjects to prepare graduates for day‑to‑day HR work and strategic people management. You will study organisational behaviour, fundamentals of management, microeconomics and accounting basics in the early semesters to build a business foundation.

• Human Resource Management: recruitment and selection, job analysis and design, compensation and benefits, payroll basics.
• People Development: training and development, performance appraisal systems, coaching and mentoring, talent management.
• Organisational Studies: organisational theory, change management, leadership, workplace culture.
• Employment Law and Ethics: labour law, employee rights, occupational health and safety, business ethics.
• Analytical and Supporting Subjects: statistics for business, research methods, information systems in HR, project work.
• Practical Learning: case studies, group projects, workplace simulations, a supervised professional placement or internship and a final bachelor’s thesis or capstone project.

The programme emphasises applied learning: students learn to interpret HR data, design recruitment campaigns, develop training programmes and contribute to strategic workforce planning.

Entry requirements

Applicants normally need a completed upper‑secondary school leaving certificate (or equivalent) recognised by the University of Maribor. Admission may require proof of sufficient knowledge in compulsory secondary subjects such as English and mathematics; some applicants sit an entrance assessment or submit a portfolio, depending on the faculty's process.

International candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the language of instruction (Slovene or English, depending on the intake) through recognised language certificates or university testing. Specific selection rules and any additional requirements (for example interviews or entrance tests) are set out by the Faculty and should be checked before application.
