What you'll study

Students take a set of required core leadership courses delivered in seven‑week online modules to build foundational leadership skills. Beyond the core, the major offers nine different emphases that let you tailor the curriculum to a particular field; each emphasis contains classes focused on career‑specific skills. One self‑directed emphasis is available that follows the same accelerated, fully online format.

Entry requirements

There are two degree pathways. The Bachelor of Arts option is appropriate for students who already hold an Associate of Arts & Sciences degree, those who have completed a few college courses and plan to transfer credits in, or students who begin college and select the organizational leadership major. The Bachelor of Applied Studies option is intended for graduates of Applied Associate Degree programs (for example from the Wisconsin Technical College System) who transfer in as juniors and complete remaining university requirements.

The curriculum prepares graduates for management and leadership roles across sectors — private businesses, nonprofit organizations and government agencies — where skills in inspiring teams, managing projects and leading organizational change are needed.
