Programme overview

The Bachelor of Human Rights, Peace and Humanitarian Interventions develops practical knowledge and skills for advancing human rights, fostering sustainable peace and delivering humanitarian responses. Teaching combines interactive methods, group projects, case studies and individual research delivered in-person and via e-learning, with input from university staff, think-tank researchers, academics and practitioners from humanitarian groups, media, government and civil society.

Entry requirements

Applicants must meet Uganda Christian University general entry rules and, for direct entry, hold two principal passes at A-Level or an equivalent qualification. Admissions proceed via the university online application system; there are designated application fees and an Advent/September full-time day intake at the Main/Mukono campus.

Graduates are prepared for roles with local, national, regional and international organisations. Typical functions include initiating, managing, facilitating and promoting human rights and peace initiatives, and participating in humanitarian and post-conflict interventions that affect human co-existence and survival.
