A three-year undergraduate programme combining economics theory with statistical methods for quantitative analysis. Suited to students who want to apply numerical and analytical skills to policy, research or commercial problems within a values-based (Christian) institutional context.

What you'll study

Alongside foundational written-communication and biblical studies, course topics include:

Entry requirements

Admission follows the university's undergraduate rules plus one of these options:

  • Holders of a relevant diploma from a recognised higher-education institution.
  • Direct entrants with two A' level principal passes including economics and mathematics, and a pass in O' level mathematics taken in the same sitting.
  • Mature-age entry: Ugandan nationals aged at least 25 with formal education who pass the university's written and oral mature-age examinations.

Applications are made through the university online portal; separate application fees apply for Ugandan and international applicants, and there are two intakes (Advent/September and Trinity/May). (See the university application pages for current fee levels and intake details.)

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for quantitative roles across non-profit, public and private sectors. Typical positions listed by the programme include research, monitoring and evaluation officers, district planners, biostatisticians, consultants, programme officers, economic/financial/sales analysts, loan officers and insurance agents.
