What you'll study

Research projects span topics across behavioural science and health, including behavioural science and health, health psychology, psychobiology, cancer prevention and early diagnosis, cancer survivorship, social connections and behaviours, arts, culture and health, and diet and physical activity. PhD candidates work on an independent research programme under direct supervision and engage with departmental research groups.

Entry requirements

Applicants need at least an upper second‑class UK Bachelor's degree and/or a Master's degree (preferably with merit or distinction) in a relevant discipline, or an overseas qualification judged equivalent. International applicants should consult UCL guidance on country equivalencies and English language requirements; some applicants may require an ATAS statement.

Career prospects

The programme prepares students for roles in academia, public health practice, industry and healthcare policy. Graduates gain research, methodological and transferable skills relevant to epidemiology, behavioural science, public health and related sectors.
