What you'll study

Coursework combines graduate-level theological study with ministry skills aimed at current challenges faced by American churches. Examples of curricular offerings include:

• Advanced Systematic Theology
• Advanced Preaching and Teaching
• Theological Foundations of Counseling
• Ministry Philosophy for the Church
• Leadership in the Local Church

Students examine tensions within theological systems, develop contemporary preaching methodologies, study biblical principles of personality and counseling, and practice leadership topics such as servant leadership, mentoring, visionary leadership, and change leadership as applied to the North American local church.

Entry requirements

Standard admission asks for a four-year bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) from a recognized institution. Applicants should provide official transcripts and a spiritual life reference; unofficial transcripts may be used for initial review if degree work is in progress. Applicants with pre-seminary education from non-accredited institutions or with GPAs below 2.5 may be admitted on academic restriction. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree may be considered if they meet specified ministry experience and research/writing requirements. International applicants must submit TESOL scores where required and a financial certificate demonstrating sufficient funding.

Graduates are prepared for congregational leadership and a range of pastoral roles. Typical positions include:

Pastoral duties commonly encompass preaching, teaching, administration, pastoral care, spiritual guidance, and biblical counseling.

Grace encourages prospective students to contact seminary admissions for information about financial support and specific funding options. Applicants should also explore institutional scholarships, denominational aid, bi-vocational support, and transfer or advanced-standing opportunities that can reduce time-to-degree and cost; the program allows advanced standing up to 18 credit hours and transfer of up to 36 credit hours, with a combined limit of 36.
