The Exeter Excellence Scholarships 2026/27 – Undergraduate Round 1 are prestigious awards offered by the University of Exeter (UK) to recognise exceptional academic achievement. These scholarships aim to support outstanding international students who demonstrate strong academic merit, ambition, and the potential to contribute to Exeter’s vibrant student community.
Designed to attract global talent, the scholarship provides financial support in the form of £3,000 or £5,000 recurring tuition fee discounts for eligible undergraduate programmes.
Degree Level
The scholarship is available for:
- Undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree programmes
Students must enter Year 1 in September 2026

Some programmes are NOT eligible, including:
- Flexible Combined Honours
- BMBS Medicine
- Law programmes delivered by the University of Law
- Dual LLB/JD with CUHK
- LLB Engineering & Law (HKUST)
- Graduate Law LLB
- LLB Law via Brickfields Asia College
- Simon Fraser University double-degree
- Degree Apprenticeships
Benefits
The Exeter Excellence Scholarship offers:
- £3,000 or £5,000 recurring tuition fee reduction
- Award applied each eligible year of study
- Can be combined with certain regional scholarships (China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey)
- Combined total must not exceed £10,000 per year
Eligible Nationalities
You can apply if you:
Have International fee status (including EU students paying international fees in 2026/27)
Not eligible:
Students progressing from University of Exeter International Study Centre (ISC) Foundation programmes
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible undergraduate degree
- Be self-funded
- Demonstrate academic excellence equivalent to A-Level grades AAB
- Show strong academic ambition, career goals, and commitment to contributing to Exeter’s community
- Submit a 300-word personal statement answering provided questions
Application Procedure
Follow these steps to apply:
1. Apply to a Degree Programme
- Submit your UCAS application for an eligible undergraduate programme at the University of Exeter.
2. Receive an Offer
You must hold:
- A conditional OR An unconditional offer for September 2026 entry.
3. Submit the Scholarship Application
Once you have your offer:
- Complete the online scholarship webform
- Provide a 300-word personal statement answering:
- Your future ambitions and how Exeter will help you achieve them
- What you will contribute to the campus environment
- How you will act as an ambassador for Exeter
4. Deadline
- 12 February 2026 (Round 1)
- Results announced by 12 March 2026
