Eligible Nationalities
This scholarship is specifically for international students who have a valid residence permit in Italy. This includes those with international protection (asylum/refugee status or subsidiary protection), special protection, temporary protection (for Ukrainians), or another form of protection under Italian law. The permit must have been issued from 2019 onward.
Eligibility Criteria
The "UniTo for Students at Risk" scholarship is designed to assist students holding specific protection statuses in Italy. For the 2025-2026 academic year, the university is offering 10 scholarships.
Target Group and Enrollment: The scholarship is reserved for students who are enrolling for the very first time in a program at the University of Turin during the 2025-2026 academic year. This means it is not for students who are transferring from another Italian university or changing their current program at UniTo.
Age Requirement: Applicants must have been born after January 1, 1997.
Academic Qualifications: You must hold a foreign academic qualification that is recognized and deemed acceptable for enrollment in an undergraduate or postgraduate program at the University of Turin.
Language Proficiency: A minimum B1 level of proficiency is required in the language of instruction for your chosen program. This could be Italian for most programs, but an increasing number of courses are offered in English, requiring English proficiency.
Application Procedure
Program Application: First, you must apply to your desired degree program through the UniTo online portal, Apply@UniTo.
Scholarship Application: Once you have a program application ID, you must then submit a separate scholarship application through the dedicated UniTo international scholarships portal.
Required Documents: You will need to upload several key documents, including your passport, your residence permit or other proof of protection status, a motivation letter, a CV, academic transcripts, and a language proficiency certificate.
Deadlines: The deadline for the scholarship application for the 2025-2026 academic year is September 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. CEST. It is critical to submit all documents before this deadline.
