Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the HKPFS at Lingnan University, applicants must:

Application Procedure
Applicants must complete a two-step application process:
Step 1: Apply via RGC Portal
- Apply through the RGC HKPFS Online Application System
- Application period: 1 September – 1 December (12:00 HKT)
- Receive a reference number upon submission
Step 2: Apply to Lingnan University
- Submit a full PhD application via Lingnan University’s online system
- Quote the RGC reference number for verification
- Select “HK PhD Fellowship Scheme (Academic Year)” as the application type
- Complete submission by 1 December (23:59 HKT)
- Pay the required application fee
Selection & Nomination
- Lingnan University reviews applications and nominates outstanding candidates
- Final fellowship selection is conducted by RGC selection panels
- Applicants not awarded HKPFS may still receive:
- PhD admission, and
- Postgraduate Studentship awards from Lingnan University
