Singapore South-East Asia Fellowship 2025 (Fully Funded)

Are you a postdoctoral researcher from an ASEAN country looking for a fully funded international research opportunity in 2025? The Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS) has officially opened applications for the SASEAF Fellowship Programme 2025, inviting talented early-career scientists from Southeast Asia to collaborate with leading research institutions in Singapore.

Degree Level

Singapore South-East Asia Fellowship 2025 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Fellowship level programs at Singapore Universities.

The SG Academies South-East Asia Fellowship (SASEAF) Programme 2025 is a prestigious initiative supported by Singapore's leading academic institutions. This program facilitates two-year postdoctoral fellowships for outstanding researchers from ASEAN countries (excluding Singaporean citizens and PRs), enabling them to carry out innovative research in Singapore.

Preferred Research Areas:

While all scientific disciplines are eligible, preferred topics include:

  1. Infectious Diseases (including participation in the PREPARE Programme by NRF & MOH)
  2. Population Health / Public Health
  3. Sustainability and Urban Agriculture

Benefits

Successful candidates will receive:

  1. A monthly stipend of SGD 4,000–6,500, based on experience
  2. A one-time travel grant of SGD 4,000 (arrival and departure)
  3. Access to Singapore’s world-class research infrastructure

Eligible Nationalities

Open to applicants of all nationalities.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Be a citizen of an ASEAN member country, residing outside Singapore
  2. Hold a PhD degree from a reputable university
  3. Be 40 years old or younger at the time of application
  4. Be employed (or have a confirmed offer) in a public-sector research institution in their home country
  5. Be fluent in English (spoken and written)

Application Procedure

Required Documents

To apply, candidates must submit:

  1. Completed application form
  2. Research proposal (maximum two pages)
  3. In-principle approval from a host professor/PI in Singapore
  4. Certified academic transcripts and diplomas
  5. Two letters of recommendation

Important Dates

  1. Application Deadline: 1 August 2025
  2. Fellowship Period: 24 months
  3. Final selection is made by the Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS)

Judging Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:

  1. Academic performance and qualifications
  2. Quality and relevance of the proposed research
  3. Impact on home country and Singapore
  4. Likelihood of continuing research post-fellowship
  5. Engagement with regional research challenges
