Tokushima University Japan Fujii Scholarship 2026

Are you an international student from Asia studying in Japan and seeking financial support? The Fujii International Scholarship Foundation is offering the 2026 Fujii Scholarship for International Students, a prestigious scholarship providing ¥50,000 per month for eligible students enrolled at designated Japanese universities, including Tokushima University.

What is the Fujii Scholarship?

The Fujii Scholarship is a privately funded program designed to support outstanding self-financed international students from Asia who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and strong character. Degree Level

Tokushima University Japan Fujii Scholarship 2026 is available to undertake Masters, PhD, Bachelor level programs at Tokushima University.

Benefits

  1. Monthly stipend: ¥50,000 JPY
  2. Duration:
  3. Up to 3 years for undergraduates and doctoral students
  4. Up to 2 years for master’s students
  5. Annual review required to continue receiving the scholarship
  6. No repayment required if eligibility is maintained
  7. Up to 20 new scholars across all eligible universities, including continuing scholars

Eligible Nationalities

Applicants must be nationals of the following Asian countries or regions:

India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, South Korea, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Timor-Leste, Bhutan, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Maldives, Mongolia, Laos, Taiwan, Hong Kong


Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Be enrolled as a regular (degree-seeking) student at Tokushima University (research students are not eligible)
  2. Be a citizen of one of the listed Asian countries or regions
  3. Hold a valid “Student” visa status in Japan
  4. Meet the age limit by March 31, 2026:
  5. Undergraduates: 25 or under
  6. Master’s students: 30 or under
  7. Doctoral students: 35 or under
  8. Demonstrate financial need
  9. Not receive any other scholarships during the 2026 fiscal year
  10. Participate in scholarship events and submit required reports

Application Procedure

Required Documents

Applicants must handwrite all documents in Japanese using black ink or pen. Required documents include:

  1. Application Form (designated format)
  2. Handwritten essay (within 800 characters) on a specified topic
  3. Recommendation letter from your academic advisor
  4. Consent form for recommendation
  5. Consent form for handling personal information
  6. Academic transcript
  7. Certificate of enrollment
  8. Residence card copy (front and back)
  9. (Optional but encouraged) JLPT N1 certificate copy
  10. (Optional) Summary of undergraduate or master’s thesis

  1. Document Screening: Mid-November 2025
  2. Interview (only for shortlisted candidates): Late November 2025
  3. Results Announcement: Early December 2025 via Tokushima University’s administration

Important Notes

  1. Only one student from Tokushima University can be recommended for the 2026 cycle
  2. Application forms must be handwritten and submitted through the university
  3. Students already receiving or confirmed to receive another scholarship in 2026 are not eligible
