The SUIPRES scholarship is applied directly to your tuition fees, lowering them to the home student rate.
However, applicants must ensure they have sufficient funds to cover:
The remaining tuition fees.
Living expenses for the full study period.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Swansea University International Postgraduate Research Excellence Scholarship 2025/26, applicants must:
Apply for an eligible PhD or Professional Doctorate at Swansea University.
Hold (or expect to hold) a First Class or Upper Second Class (2:1) UK undergraduate degree or an equivalent international qualification. A Distinction in a UK master’s degree (or equivalent) is also acceptable.
Be classified as an international student and pay the international tuition rate.
Demonstrate academic excellence and achievements beyond qualifications, such as research prizes, outreach work, publications, or teaching experience.
Not eligible if:
You are a current PhD/Professional Doctorate student at Swansea University.
You are applying for a master’s-level course.
You are fully sponsored by a third party.

Scholarship Deadlines
The SUIPRES Scholarship has different deadlines depending on your enrolment date:
January 2026 enrolment – Apply by 15 October 2025
April 2026 enrolment – Apply by 15 January 2026
July 2026 enrolment – Apply by 15 April 2026
