UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowship 2024 (Fully Funded) is open for International Students . The scholarship allows Fellowship level program(s) in the field of Engineering taught at AGH University of Science and Technology offered by UNESCO . The deadline of the scholarship is 10 May 2024.

Degree Level for UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowship:

UNESCO/Poland Co-Sponsored Fellowship 2024 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake Fellowship level programs at AGH University of Science and Technology.

Duration and Place of Fellowship Study

The fellowship will last for 6 months and take place at the AGH University of Krakow, UNESCO AGH Chair (A. Mickiewicza Ave 30, PL 30-059 Krakow, Poland).

Free Tuition:

You won't pay tuition fees to study at the university (based on local regulations).

Monthly Stipend:

You'll receive a monthly allowance to cover living expenses. The amount depends on your degree level:
  • Bachelor's studets: 1800 PLN (approx. $450 USD)
  • Master's students: 2200 PLN (approx. $550 USD)

Welcome Allowance:

Upon arrival in Poland, you'll receive a one-time allowance to help with initial expenses:
  • Bachelor's students: 1800 PLN (approx. $450 USD)
  • Master's students: 2200 PLN (approx. $550 USD)
This allowance can be used for activities like a mandatory medical check-up, cultural visits, or conferences related to your studies.

Additional Benefits:

  • Travel:
UNESCO will cover the cost of your round-trip international travel to and from Poland by the most economical route.
  • Health Insurance:
UNESCO will provide health insurance coverage for the duration of your fellowship.
  • Pocket Allowance:
You'll receive a one-time pocket allowance of US$120.
  • Visa Information:
  • You are responsible for obtaining your own visa to enter Poland.
  • Apply for your visa at the Polish Embassy or Consulate in your home country, or the nearest one if your country doesn't have a Polish representative.
  • UNESCO and the Polish government do not cover passport or visa application fees.

  • Before You Begin:

Check your eligibility! Make sure your home country is included in the program's list of participating nations. Additionally, verify if your desired research field aligns with the program's offerings

Step 1: Understand the Requirements

Step 2: Contact Your National Commission

  • Get in touch with your country's National Commission for UNESCO to inquire about any national-level application procedures.

Step 3: Prepare Your Application

Gather the required supporting documents as listed in Annex II. Make sure to submit them to the National Commission for UNESCO in your home country. Here's what you'll need:
  • Completed UNESCO fellowship application form (including a medical certificate) with all four pages filled in English using capital letters (illegible applications will be rejected).
  • A recent passport-sized photo.
  • Certified copies (in English) of your Bachelor's or Master's Degree/PhD diploma (ensure you've completed your degree before applying and that it meets EU requirements).
  • UNESCO certificate of language knowledge (if English isn't your native language) obtained from a relevant authority.
  • Two recommendation letters from someone familiar with your work, attesting to your qualifications.

Step 4: Submit to the National Commission

Don't delay! National Commissions for participating countries have a deadline of May 10, 2024, to select and submit applications of nominated candidates to UNESCO headquarters in Paris . Submit your complete application package to your National Commission well before this date.

Step 5 (Conditional): Online Information Sheet

If your National Commission nominates you for the program, you'll receive notification from them. Once nominated, submit your application electronically along with a completed online information sheet. You can email your application to agh.poland@unesco.org (with unesco24@agh.edu.pl and j.markiewicz@unesco.pl copied).

Important Notes:

  • UNESCO only accepts applications endorsed by National Commissions.
  • All nominated candidates must submit their online information sheet by May 10, 2024, 12:00 PM Paris time (latest).
