ANZSOG Australia Academic Fellowships 2026

The Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) has officially opened applications for the 2026 ANZSOG Academic Fellowships, inviting expressions of interest from scholars passionate about public governance research, academic collaboration, and real-world policy impact.

This second round of the ANZSOG Academic Fellows Program offers short-term fellowship opportunities for Semester 1 and Semester 2 in 2026, available in two streams:

  1. Resident Academic Fellowships: Open exclusively to academics from ANZSOG Partner Universities.
  2. Visiting Academic Fellowships: Open to researchers from other Australian, New Zealand, and international universities.

What the Fellowships Offer

Resident Academic Fellowships

  1. Open to scholars from ANZSOG Partner Universities.
  2. Funded through a ‘buyout’ secondment model, enabling part-time engagement with ANZSOG.
  3. Fellows contribute to policy-oriented research, collaborate with faculty, and join a cross-institutional academic community.

Visiting Academic Fellowships

  1. Open to academics from both domestic and international universities.
  2. Ideal for those on university-funded sabbaticals or study leave programs.
  3. ANZSOG supports travel, accommodation, and offers workspaces plus access to their extensive practitioner-academic networks.
  4. Fellowship duration: 1 to 3 months.
