Chevening Scholarship 2026 | Application Process (Fully Funded)

The Chevening Scholarship for is a fully-funded master's program for international students. This scholarship covers university tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, economy class return airfare to the UK, and additional grants for essential expenditures.
Chevening offers a unique opportunity for professional and academic growth, networking, experiencing UK culture, and creating enduring connections with the UK. As part of the UK government's international awards system, its goal is to develop global leaders. Around 1,500 scholarships are available worldwide.
Supported by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organizations, Chevening offers Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships. Recipients are handpicked globally by British embassies and high commissions.
The Chevening Scholarship has specific eligibility criteria for applicants:
- Required Language: English.
- Eligible Countries: Citizens from Chevening-eligible countries can apply. A complete list of eligible countries is available on the Chevening official website.
- Applicants must commit to returning to their country of citizenship for at least two years after the scholarship concludes.
- Candidates should have completed an undergraduate degree that qualifies them for postgraduate study at a UK university by the time of application submission. This generally equates to an upper second-class 2:1 honours degree in the UK, but requirements may vary based on the chosen course and university.
- Work Experience: A minimum of two years (or 2,800 hours) of work experience is required.
- Applicants must apply to three different eligible UK university courses and must have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by July.
