What you'll study

Students complete a minimum of 18 semester hours of coursework at the 5000 level, chosen in consultation with the graduate certificate advisor. The curriculum develops abilities to analyze social inequalities and gender constructs, advance research skills in women’s and gender studies, and strengthen academic writing relevant to the field.

Entry requirements

Admission to the P.B. Certificate in Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies is required. Applicants entering TWU only for the certificate must submit a 500–700 word statement of purpose to womenstudies@twu.edu and provide an email address for one recommender who will submit a letter. Students already admitted to another TWU graduate program should submit a letter requesting admission to the certificate plus a 500–700 word statement of purpose to womenstudies@twu.edu. For general graduate admission applicants must apply online, submit official transcripts (domestic and evaluated international transcripts as specified), provide recommendations as required by the application, and pay the application fee or request an eligible fee waiver. Career prospects

The certificate prepares students for roles that require informed, critical perspectives on gender and diversity, including positions in community leadership, social services, academic contexts, and other professional careers where multicultural feminist or womanist scholarship and research skills are valuable.
