A 30-credit online master's that trains managers in leadership, communications, project management and organizational strategy. Suited to graduates from any undergraduate background aiming for supervisory or mid-level roles in business, non-profit, healthcare or government settings.

What you'll study

The MSM focuses on interpersonal and organizational competencies rather than heavy quantitative business analysis. Students may earn either the traditional full degree or build the degree through three stacked certificates plus a capstone course. The program’s certificates and sample courses are:

  • Business Foundations (3 courses): Principles of Finance; Project Management; Operations Strategy.
  • Leadership (3 courses): Negotiation; Ethics & Leadership; Strategic Management.
  • Managing People & Organizations (3 courses): Leading Organizational Change; HR Management; Managerial Communication.

The full MSM consists of those three certificates plus a program capstone (ten total courses).

Entry requirements

  • Completed online application and resume.
  • Non-refundable $50 application fee (fee waiver available for UIndy alumni; contact program).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university; original transcripts from each institution attended.
  • GRE or GMAT is not required; no prerequisite courses required.

International applicants must submit a course-by-course credential evaluation from an approved service (examples provided by the program), and meet English proficiency guidelines (Duolingo 100, TOEFL iBT 79, or IELTS 6.5 unless a U.S. degree negates the requirement). Additional financial documentation is requested for international applicants. Note that the online format removes the need for an F‑1 visa.

Career prospects

The MSM is aimed at professionals who want stronger leadership, communication and team-management abilities. The program markets itself to individuals pursuing roles in sales management, human resources management, healthcare administration and similar managerial positions across entrepreneurial, nonprofit and for‑profit organizations. Coursework targets skills used in motivating teams, strategic planning, organizational design, negotiations and project management.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

The program page highlights career services and professional support rather than specific scholarships: students have access to career coaching, resume development and mentoring through the Stephen F. Fry Professional Edge Center. The degree’s stackable certificate model may allow learners to earn credentials progressively while they work. For detailed funding options or scholarship availability, applicants are advised to contact the program directly.
