Coursework and activities centre on instrumental/vocal jazz performance, improvisation, ensemble participation and practical industry skills. Students work closely with UIndy jazz faculty and encounter guest artists such as Emmet Cohen, Dave Stryker and Dick Oatts. The programme gives students chances to perform regularly on and off campus, to compose and arrange, and to gain experience booking, promoting and recording their own groups.
