The curriculum covers practical accounting competencies including processing, analysing and reporting accounting data, business law, management, and use of financial formulas and Excel. The program outline lists specific courses across three semesters:
Applicants must have a recognized bachelor degree and satisfy the prerequisite accounting coursework: completion of BUAD 130, or BUAD 111 and BUAD 121, or an equivalent with at least 60%. English 12 (or approved alternative) with 50% is required. A math prerequisite of 50% in specified Grade 11 or adult basic education math courses is required. International applicants are strongly recommended to obtain a WES evaluation. A personal laptop meeting program specifications is required.
The program prepares graduates with job‑ready accounting skills and the accounting major prerequisites for entry into the Chartered Professional Accountants Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). Coursework in taxation, audit, advanced financial and managerial accounting, internal control and data analytics supports roles in accounting, auditing, tax and financial reporting; students remain responsible for confirming that their grades meet CPA requirements.
