What you'll study

Coursework builds on prior RN preparation with a focus on nursing leadership, management, communication, decision-making and critical thinking plus population health competencies. Students complete online modules complemented by supervised practice experiences in their local communities that target leadership/management and population health practice.

Entry requirements

To apply you must have completed an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Diploma Nursing Program and earned at least 57 credits from a regionally accredited institution. The program also accepts transfers (up to 90 credits from four-year institutions or 60 from two-year institutions) to reduce time to degree.

Career prospects

The BSN prepares nurses for expanded clinical and managerial roles and is commonly the entry step toward graduate nursing programs (MSN) and advanced practice pathways. Utica highlights leadership pathways such as Clinical Nurse Manager, Nursing Manager and Nursing Director.
