What you'll study

Students complete a TCNJ bachelor’s degree in one of several majors (for example, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, English, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Spanish) during the three-year undergraduate phase, then move into the four-year medical curriculum at Rutgers NJMS. NJMS combines research, clinical training and community service in its medical education.

Entry requirements

Admission into the seven-year BS/MD program is available to qualified first-year applicants who receive direct acceptance into the accelerated dual-degree track. The program is arranged through an articulation agreement between TCNJ and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Career prospects

Graduates follow a path to become physicians, combining undergraduate preparation with the MD training at Rutgers NJMS. The program emphasizes preparation for clinical practice, research opportunities and community-engaged patient care available through NJMS’ facilities and clinical programs.
