What you'll study

The post-credential portion centers on teacher inquiry and action research. Students complete four 3-credit courses (12 units total) designed to build a teacher-research identity and produce a classroom-based research report.

Entry requirements

Applicants must submit a completed application, official college/university transcripts showing a bachelor’s degree, and a signed verification of employment letter. Only credential program courses with a grade of B or better count toward the MAT. If you are finishing your credential or degree, you may submit a current transcript but must provide a final transcript before enrolling. Enrollment is restricted to those who completed the FPU credential program within five years.

The program strengthens classroom practice, assessment literacy, and skills in conducting action research, preparing graduates for stronger classroom performance and for advancement into school or district leadership roles or pursuit of specialized certifications.
