What you'll study

The major has three integrated components: coursework, spiritual formations, and applied learning through an internship. Required coursework totals 47 units and includes core offerings such as:

Internship sequence (6 units total) is completed as MIN 482 (integration, 2–3 credits) and MIN 483 (summative, 2–3 credits). The internship may be arranged as three semesters of 2 units (preferred for adult accelerated students) or two summers at 3 units with program director approval; MIN 482 is taken in the semesters leading to the final semester and MIN 483 in the final semester. Elective units are used as needed to meet BA minimums. Lower-division requirements include BIB-100/101/114 and a BLIT course; students who still need the foreign-language GE requirement are encouraged to take Biblical Hebrew or Classical Greek.

Entry requirements

Admission follows the university's Admission Policies and Requirements (see the catalog for details). The program is designed for both traditional undergraduates and adult accelerated or degree-completion students. Classes generally meet one night a week and many include online components, so basic computer literacy is expected.

Career prospects

Graduates are prepared for vocational roles in churches, parachurch ministries and nonprofit organizations, with practical training applicable to youth, worship, children’s ministry, pastoral ministries and leadership of volunteers and organizations. The program emphasizes identifying calling through faculty mentorship and developing ministry competencies via the integrated internship.

Scholarships & funding angle (general)

Students in this program may be eligible for the Bridge to Ministry Pathway, an accelerated pastoral degree option that includes a $1,500 scholarship for qualifying first-time freshmen. Graduates who meet academic standards and course-grade thresholds may also qualify for advanced standing in Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary master's programs.
